Why Is It So Hard To Lose Weight?
For many people, losing weight is a very difficult thing to do but for others it’s a piece of cake; they just apply some common sense and they always seem to have positive results. So why is it so hard for some people to lose weight?
There are some contributing factors that make it hard for some people to shed unwanted pounds than others. If you have problem losing weight, one of the following factors could be the contributors.
1. Medical conditions. If you have undiagnosed medical conditions such as diabetes, thyroid problems, insulin resistance or metabolic disorders, these could be the culprits that make it difficult for you to lose weight. If you have tried your best to live a healthy lifestyle but still have problem in losing weight, you should make an appointment to see your doctor for some tests to rule out a medical problem.
Also, are you taking any medication? If you do, check with your doctor if the medication has any side effect? The medication you take could be a culprit for your weight loss problem.
2. Portion control. Many people know how to eat healthy foods but they don’t monitor how much they eat. You could be eating healthy but if the portion you’re eating is triple the amount that you’re supposed to eat, you won’t be able to lose weight. Portion control is very important for weight loss success; you must keep a diary and keep track of the amount of food you eat everyday.
3. Bad eating habits. Choose the wrong types of food to eat; eat more foods when you’re stressed or feeling sad; starve yourself in a hope to lose some pounds; giving in to cravings; etc.. All these are typical examples of bad eating habits. So, if you have those bad habits, you have got to get rid of them if you want to lose weight.
4. Not exercise regularly. If you think you can skip exercising by just controlling your calorie intake, think again. Controlling calorie intake may help you maintain your weight; but it won’t help you burn calorie. Only exercise can help burn calorie. Just go outside and walk briskly or jog for 25-30 minutes three times a week could make a huge difference between success and failure.
