Three Ways To Help You Sleep Tight Tonight

According to the National Sleep Foundation, as many as 40% of women over the age of 40 suffer from insomnia. Many of them take sleeping pill which can only provide a short-term solution. In this article, you will learn three natural ways that work with your body rhythms and will put you to sleep like a baby.

1. Limit Your Time In Bed

For this trick to work, first you need to track your sleep hours. Let’s say if you sleep 6 hours per night, then set your alarm accordingly. Once the alarm goes off, get out off your bed immediately. Do not turn the alarm off and go back to sleep, this will disrupt your sleep pattern. By limiting the time in bed, your body will get tired after a long hard day and when you go to bed, your body will associate the bed with sleep instead of tossing and turning around. Always wake up at the same time. For instance, if you set your alarm at 7am then always get up at 7am no matter how many hours you have slept. If you sleep at 12 midnight, wake up at 7am. If you sleep at 2am, wake up at 7am too. Very soon your body will recognize the rhythm and you will be able to sleep well every night.

2. Take Magnesium Citrate

Take 200-300 mg of magnesium citrate daily with dinner. Magnesium helps the bosy to produce melatonin, which is a natural hormone that sends a rest signal to your body when sleep time comes.

3. Exercise in the Early Evening

Four hours before your sleep time, take a brisk walk, jog or swim for at least 30 minutes. If you don’t have the time in early evening, then do it in the morning. Do not exercise one or two hours before your bed time.
